Obituary for Elizabeth “Betty” Petrarca Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Petrarca, age 87, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018, surrounded by family and a rainbow from God outside the window. She was born March 2, 1931 in Providence, RI, to the late Frank A. and Elizabeth M. Lovett. Betty is survived by her loving husband Anthony (Tony), whom she married on July 4, 1955; daughter Martina Petrarca Jakob and her children Matthew and Theresa; daughter Aurelie; daughter Clare Love and her children Samantha and George; daughter Barbara (Matthew) Cooper and their children Geoffrey, Charles and Thomas; son Charles; son Richard (Patricia) and their son A.J; and daughter-in-Christ Elizabeth Krick.

Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Francis, Charles and George Lovett. A member of St. Michael Church, Worthington; she was Secretary of the Parish School of Religion from 1976 until her retirement in 1996. Betty was much more than that.

She was the original “bag lady” delivering ad inserts to front doors, not your driveway. She helped with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, school functions, especially music and sports; she met her husband square dancing in 1953 and they continued square dancing after they kicked the kids out of the house. Thank you, Mom, for teaching us independence, good judgement, fairness, and how to love one another in the true Christian sense.

Family Visitation: Thursday June 21, 4:00 – 7:00pm, RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, OH. Prayer service at 6:30pm. Funeral Service: Friday June 22, 10:00am, St. Michael The Archangel, 5750 N. High Street, Worthington, OH.
