Obituary for Elizabeth Carole Mitchell Elizabeth Carole Mitchell, 79, of Louisville, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 26, 2018. She was born in Louisville, daughter of the late Thomas M. and Winona Fleekenstein Greenwell. She attended Loretto High School and graduated from Shawnee High School.

She worked in sales in the hardware department at the old Sears Store in St. Matthews and was an Elvis fan, seeing him in concert many times and former Show Chairperson of the Kentuckiana German Shepard Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, William Mitchell; and a brother, William “Tommy” Greenwell. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Mitchell, Michael Mitchell (Carole), and Danielle Messer (Ray); six grandchildren, Sesha Freimund (Kevin Green), Laura Wilson (Travis), Benjamin Mitchell (Heather), Ari Messer, Taylor Messer (Kearstin O’Daniel), Sylus Messer; and former husband, James S. Mitchell A Celebration of her life will take place 10 a.m. Monday at Ratterman Funeral Home, 37121 Lexington Road “in St. Matthews” with burial in St. Louis Cemetery.
