Obituary for Elizabeth Gay Porter Elizabeth Gay “Tena” Porter, age 81 of Joplin, Mo. passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at her home following an illness. Tena was born on June 23, 1937 in Rhame, North Dakota.

, the daughter of Carol and Fannie (Wingert) Frisinger. She was a graduate of Neosho High School a member of the Class of 1955. Tena married Claude Z. Porter on December 16, 1955, and together they raised four children.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Tena was a Methodist. She retired from the Wal-Mart Home Office in Bentonville, Arkansas.

She enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She loved watching many different sporting events especially St. Louis Cardinal baseball and Green Bay Packers football. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Z. “Buddy” Porter in 2003; a granddaughter, Kirby Walker; three brothers, Neil Frisinger, Jim Frisinger, and Roger Frisinger; and one sister, Nancy Wilson.

Survivors include three daughters; Jayme Van Horn and husband Bob, Coppell, Tx. , Cathy Walker and husband Robert, Bentonville, Ar. , and Renee Harrop and husband Calvin, Clinton, Mo.

; one son; Tony Porter, Denver, Co.; one brother, Gene Frisinger, Racine, Mo. ; nine grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel.
