Becky’s Obituary Rebecca Jo ‘Becky’ Ness Thomason, age 61, Webb City, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at her home after a sudden illness. Becky was born January 19, 1957 in Joplin to Jack J. Ness and Betty ‘Jeanne’ Peck Ness and had lived in the Joplin area the past 18 years, moving from Springfield. Becky was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War era.

She attained the rank of 1st Lt. and worked in the medical corps with the Army Reserves for many years. She served as an RN for many years in various locations, including Houston and both Freeman and St. John’s Hospitals in Joplin.

Becky was a member of various veterans groups. She enjoyed collecting bells, tea cups, antique silverware and spending time with her family. She gave 120 percent in everything she did.

Becky will be missed by all who knew her. She married Jimmie ‘Jim’ Thomason on November 24, 1989 in Joplin. He survives at the home.

Additional survivors include her children, Adam Christian Nolen and wife, Bonnie Hicklin, Springfield, Samantha Sue Thomason-Hankins, Springfield, Caebra Thomason and Jared Cole, Carthage, Diona Thomason, Webb City; siblings, John Ness and wife, Roxanne, Neck City, Kathy Ness, Kansas City, Kansas, Donald Ness and wife, Susan, Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Milo Nolen, Bella Hankins, Ean Moore, Alicia Cole, Jabari Lee; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Becky was preceded in death by a sister, Kelley Ness Wallace. Services are planned for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Pathways United Methodist Church, Oronogo.

Brandon Haag will officiate. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Family Support Group, in care of Parker Mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
