Kathy’s Obituary Kathy Lynn Boyd, age 69, Joplin, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at her home with family at her side. Kathy was born August 15, 1949 in Wagoner, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Clarence Boyd and Marie Wing Boyd. She graduated from Wagoner High School, and then earned her degree in teaching from North Eastern Oklahoma State Teacher’s College, now North Eastern Oklahoma University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

She would later earn her Master’s Degree from the same school. She was a teacher with the Seneca School District for 30 years, retiring in 2002. She was devoted to her students, and dedicated her life to education.

She mentored many students throughout the years, and many of these she still has a relationship. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by a sister, Betty Barrick and husband Bill of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with friends and family sharing memories of Kathy. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
