Elizabeth Libby Wiley Halberstadt , December 31, 1944 — October 05, 2018

Elizabeth “Libby” Halberstadt, 73, of Connersville passed away Friday morning, October 5, 2018, at Reid Hospital in Richmond where she had been a patient for the past week. She was born December 31, 1944, in Fayette County, one of nine children of Russell E. and Rita M. Risch Wiley. She attended St. Gabriel School and was a 1963 graduate of Connersville High School.

Libby received her beautician’s license in 1967. She owned and operated Libby’s Beauty Salon for 40 years, retiring in 2007. She dearly loved her clients and built many lifelong friendships with many of them.

She was a member of St. Gabriel Church, Daughters of Isabella, Hairdressers Association, and the Women’s Bowling Association. Libby’s favorite pastime was bowling, and she was proud of the 298 game she bowled in 1987. She loved playing bingo and euchre.

She enjoyed her sister weekends, going on family vacations, and spending time with her family. She cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Heidi Davidson and her husband, Matt of Connersville; three grandchildren, Haley, Kodi, and Garrett; two great-grandchildren, Paisley and Carson; three brothers, Joe Wiley and wife, Eileen of Connersville, Bill Wiley and wife, Daphne of Georgia, and Mike Wiley of Indianapolis; five sisters, Mary Williams and husband, John of New Castle, Janet Conners and husband, Cliff of North Carolina, Phyllis Becht of Connersville, Theresa Hounchell and husband, Mike of Connersville, and Margaret Polito and husband, Bob of Texas; Libby’s former husband, Kerry Halberstadt; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Todd Halberstadt, and a niece, Alison Becht. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Glenn O’Connor at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Reid Hospice and online condolences can be made anytime at millermosterrobbins.com.
