Obituary for Elizabeth M. Long Elizabeth M. Long, age 91, a resident of Mayfield passed peacefully on Sunday October 7, 2018 at the Wells House Nursing Home in Johnstown. She was born in Broadalbin on December 6, 1926. The daughter of the late Alfred and May Lockyear Fassett.

She was a graduate of the Littauer School of Nursing in Gloversville in 1955. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for Nathan Littauer Hospital for over 40 years. She was a longtime member of the Gloversville Lions Club and past president.

She was a former member of the Fulton County Republican Club, the Eastern Star, and the Nathan Littauer Alumni Nurses Association. Following her retirement from the hospital she worked for a cruise line as a Nurse traveling all over the world. She was an avid outdoors woman and also worked for ENCON, during the black bear studies.

She loved camping, snowmobiling, boating and fishing. Survivors include her son; Charles Long of Schenectady. One daughter; Rebecca VanDusen of Gloversville.

Two grandsons; Joshua (Amanda) VanNostrand of Rotterdam and Daniel VanNostrand of Gloversville. One great granddaughter; Lucy VanNostrand of Rotterdam. She is also survived by her longtime companion Jack Sullivan of Mayfield.

She was predeceased by two brothers; Robert Fassett and Rev. John Fassett. There will be no calling hours or funeral service.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Gloversville Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave. , Gloversville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nathan Littauer Hospital Foundation.
