OBITUARY Elizabeth Marie Clorite October 31, 1930 – October 29, 2018 Cheerful, dedicated mother of 6, grandmother to 11, 1 great grandchild, and beloved wife of 66 years. Elizabeth M. Clorite, 87, passed October 28, 2018 surrounded by her beloved husband Phil of 66 years, who never left her side, and their 6 children. Bette was predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret O’Connor Moran of Fall River MA, brothers Bill, Dan and John Moran, and her sister Peggy Harrington.

Born October 31, 1930 in Fall River, MA, Bette attended high school, Sacred Heart Academy in Fall River MA, where she captained her sports team. Bette attended Notre Dame College of Baltimore, Maryland. She was a local Realtor for the Powell/Gould and Shoreland agencies for many years in Madison.

Bette was dedicated to her 6 children and to her beloved husband Phil. For over 64 years, she tirelessly supported and attended every function, athletic and arts performance involving her children and grandchildren. She greeted everyone with a cheerful smile.

Bette enjoyed a cheerful disposition with a sharp wit. She never spoke negatively about anyone and she never complained. Loved by all, Bette made everyone feel special.

Bette’s kitchen table was frequently occupied by neighbors and friends. It was not uncommon for family to return home and find Bette’s round kitchen table fully occupied. She always took the time to listen.

Bette’s Kitchen was also the harbor of refuge for all without a place to be on holidays. It was not uncommon to host (and feed)40+ people on these special days. All were welcome with a smile.

Besides her family, Bette’s passion was boating to every harbor from Maine to Burlington Vt. She was an active member in the Baldwin and North Cove yacht clubs for over 45 years where she made lifelong friends. Bette was an avid supporter of the UCONN Women’s basketball program.

Bette and Phil had season tickets for years and attended many functions with the players. They travelled to San Antonio, Texas to passionately watch their Huskies win the National Championship in 2010. Bette was also a world traveler.

She traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, North and South America. Whether it was body surfing outside of Tokyo, hiking in British Columbia, or sailing in the Caribbean, Bette was always game for the challenge. Survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Philip A. Clorite of Madison, and 6 children, Michael Clorite of North Haven CT, Linda Caisse of North Kingstown RI, Philip Clorite of Stonington Ct, William Clorite of Madison CT, Timothy Clorite of Saunderstown RI, Christine St. Claire of Winthrop ME, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

Services will be held on Friday November 2, 2018 at St. Margaret’s Church in Madison at 10 am. With a reception to follow. Service will also be held on Saturday November 3, 2018 at Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St, Fall River, at 9am followed by the burial at St Patrick’s cemetery in Fall River and then a reception.
