Annette was born December 22, 1939 in Mare Island, CA to Ona Abigail (Ray) and Albert Ervin Howell, DDS.

She graduated with the class of 1956 at Riverside Polytechnic High School (Riverside, CA). Annette attended college for a year and a half at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. She transferred to Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC where she graduated in the class of 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education and met her husband, The Reverend Thomas S. Little, Sr. Annette and Tom were married from 1960 until his death in 1992.

Throughout their married life, Tom and Annette served parishes in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. They moved to Cleveland, OH in 1984 where Annette continued to live and work.

In June of 2005, Annette retired from a position with Adult Guardianship Services of Cleveland, OH, which was the most gratifying work of her life. “Having been an administrative assistant, a director for a home for women of limited means, and a medical transcriptionist (among other jobs), working with indigent elderly as guardian for them was the best use of my life,” according to Annette. Since her retirement, Annette lived with her daughter, Marian Little McKee, PhD, her husband Charles and grandchildren E. Blair, Haley, and Patrick McKee in Great Falls, VA.

Her son, MAJ (RET) T. Shelton Little, Jr., daughter in law Cheryl (Ribelin) and granddaughter Geneva (Gen) Little, lived nearby in Fredericksburg, VA. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents and her two brothers, Albert Ervin Howell, Jr., MD and Thomas Howard Howell. The family will hold a private service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the National Guardianship Association in her name.
