Obituary for Ella May Carter (Armstrong) Our loving mother, Ella May (Armstrong) Carter, 89, of Brownsburg, went peacefully to heaven on November 5, 2018. She was born to Carl V. and Mabel R. (Michael) Armstrong on June 17, 1929 in Indianapolis. She graduated from Southport High School in 1947.

She married Howard W. Carter on September 20, 1947. Ella May is survived by two loving children, Donna (Greg) Fisher of Brownsburg and David (Nancy) Carter of Brownsburg; two loving grandsons, Thomas (Allisa) Carter and Austin Carter; two loving great-grandsons, Kevin and Gabriel Carter. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Harry Armstrong; and a sister, Eleanor Tucker.

Ella May was a Cook for Mooresville School Corporation Elementary Schools for 10 years. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening and canning. She especially loved the holidays and spending time with her family. She lived in Brownsburg for the past 8 years, Camby for 64 years and 17 years in her birthplace of Indianapolis.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 8th and 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 9th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Stan Leichty will officiate Ella May’s celebration of life service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 9th at Jones Family Mortuary. Ella May will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
