Ellen Joy Gross March 28, 1925 – January 22, 2019 Sign Guestbook Ellen J. Gross, age 93 of Howell, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 22, 2019. Born in Pontiac, MI on March 28, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer and the late Luella (Rickerd) Scribner. Ellen worked as a legal secretary for the Howell Public Schools and Reed Fletcher Law Firm for many years and enjoyed playing the organ for the Arlington Hotel and Tibbitt’s Opera House in Coldwater, MI.
Beloved wife of Victor Roy Gross who she married on February 21, 1945 and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2009. Loving mother of Mark Gross of Howell and Cathy (Jim) Latson of Fowlerville. Proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.
Dear sister of Gretchen Achberger and Marsha Watson and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Ellen was preceded in death by her 3 brothers and 2 sisters. A visitation will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 11:00 to 12:00 at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800) where the funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Riddle Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
