Obituary for Ellene K Schmitt Ellene K. Schmitt, age 79, Haysville, Indiana, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born at Haysville, Indiana on August 6, 1939. She married Richard “Dick” Schmitt on November 17, 1962 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana.

He preceded her in death on February 16, 2018. Ellene was a homemaker and member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville. She also was a member of the Haysville Fire Department ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed doing child care for 32 years from infants to elementary school age. She was a graduate of Alfordsville High School Class of 1958. Her hobbies were playing cards (Rum), Quilting, loved canning her 14 day pickles and feeding and watching wildlife around her home.

Surviving, Son, Jeff Schmitt, Haysville, IN Daughter, Amy (Kent) Beckman, Dubois, IN Grandson, Anthony Schmitt, Haysville, IN Brother, Clifford (Jean) Mauder, Haysville,IN Funeral services for Ellene Schmitt will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon, Sunday, October 28, 2018, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Rev. Tim Holt will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Saturday, (October 27, 2018), at Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at www.
