Elsie’s Obituary Elsie Louise Weber, 66 of Taylorville, died at 8:43 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Elsie was born on January 12, 1953, the daughter of Alva and Winifred (Holmes) Thomas. She married Virgil Weber on April 2, 1975 in Taylorville, and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2002.

Elsie loved word search puzzles, Bingo, and playing computer games. She was well known for her spitfire personality, and everyone who knew her will miss her. Elsie is survived by her siblings: Kenneth Holmes of Taylorville; Dawn Garrett of Booneville, IN; Sue Benton (companion, George Frauli) of Taylorville; Sherry Antonio (companion, Wayne Cash) of Taylorville; Richard Thomas of Gillespie; Stephanie Thomas (companion, Allan Thompson) of Stonington; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews – all who loved her dearly.

Along with her husband, Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law: Rick Garrett, and nephew: Aaron Garrett. A funeral service honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2019 at McClure Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

McClure Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Taylorville is assisting the family with arrangements.
