Obituary for Emelda Jacobsen Griffin Emelda Jacobsen Griffin peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Robert C. Griffin. Daughter of the late John P. Jacobsen, Sr. and Emma Guelfo Jacobsen.

Sister of the late George J. Jacobsen, Walter J. Jacobsen, Harold P. Jacobsen, John S. Jacobsen, Roy J. Jacobsen and the late Mildred J. Sisung. Emelda is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was born in Gretna, LA and resided at Woldenberg Village in New Orleans for the past 7 years.

She worked for 34 years at Louisiana Power and Light Company until her retirement. Emelda was a member of The Knights of Columbus Archbishop Blenk #1905 Ladies Auxiliary, David Crockett Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, St. Cletus Catholic Golden Ages and West Jefferson Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary. The family would like extend a sincere appreciation to the Caregivers at Woldenberg Village and the staff of Passages Hospice for their love and care given to Emelda.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 6th Street, Gretna, LA in memory of Emelda. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 6th Street, Gretna, LA on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 9AM until 10AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday at 10AM.

Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com.
