Mr. Emory Thomas Taylor, 75, husband of Sharon Travis Taylor and a resident of New Church, VA, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born April 26, 1943 in Nassawadox, VA, he was a son of the late Emory James Taylor and Ida Mae Taylor. Emory retired from Holly Farms, now Tysons, where he worked as a truck driver for many years.

He was a diehard New York Yankees fan, loved the Washington Redskins, and enjoyed drag racing and watching NASCAR. Above all else, Emory adored his family and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his loved ones. Though his earthly presence will be greatly missed, his legacy of unconditional love will live on in those he left behind.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his two sons, Walter Taylor and fiancé Charity of Hallwood, VA, and Upshur Taylor and wife Kathy of New Church; two stepchildren, Ashley Crockett and husband Charles of Harborton, VA, and Travis Marshall of Sanford, VA; four sisters, Mary Grace Cline of Melfa, VA, Billie June Taylor of Lynchburg, VA, Joanne Carey of Hallwood, and Laura Mae Trader of Salisbury; three brothers, Gregory Dennis Taylor, Sr. of Guilford, VA, Timothy Ray Taylor and wife Shirley of Parksley, VA, and William Carroll Taylor and wife Dianne of Bloxom, VA; eleven grandchildren, Little Walt, Damien “Buddy”, Emory, Sarah, Thomas, Charles, Little Up, Joseph, Tony, Kelly, and Whitney; five great-grandchildren, Shaelyn, Kyli, Harris, Cassidy, and Riley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Donald Wayne “Bo” Taylor. Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Maury Enright officiating.

Interment will follow in the Liberty Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Intrepid Hospice, P.O. Box 770, Onley, VA 23418.
