Eric Montequilla Barksdale, 32, of Martinsville, passed away, Saturday, February 2, 2019, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born June 26, 1986, in Martinsville, Virginia, to Wendell and Sharon Ramey Barksdale. He ran a recording studio for We Entertain Virginia.

He was a great dad and loved helping children. He was a great mentor. He enjoyed wrestling, playing basketball, and his favorite football team was The Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his parents Eric is survived by his fiancée Camille Daniel; daughter, Camilla Ationa Barksdale; son, Eric Montequilla Barksdale, Jr.; sisters, Erica Barksdale, and Mary Barksdale; brothers, Wendell Barksdale, Jr., and Keontez Barksdale; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. The funeral will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019, at 12:00 noon, at Mt. Sinai Apostle Church of Christ in God, 7 Peters Street, Martinsville, Virginia.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
