Turner will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Hurricane Baptist Church in Gilbertown, AL with Reverend Ronnie Adams and Reverend Gary McInnis officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:00 prior to the service. Interment will be in the Hurricane Cemetery in Gilbertown, AL.

Mr. Turner, age 94, of Gilbertown, AL passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019, at his residence. He was born July 11, 1924 in Choctaw County, AL to Evan Turner and Melvina Herrington Turner. Mr. Turner served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was an avid outdoorsman and a champion hog hunter. He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Maxine Atchley Turner of Gilbertown, AL; daughter, Sharon Richard (Carvel) of Gilbertown, AL; brothers, James Turner (Christine) of Meridian, MS and Hilton Turner (Theresa) of Louisiana; sisters, Mattie Hall of Bailey, Mississippi and Julie Mae Roberts of Carmichael, MS; grandchildren, Michael Turner, Michelle Turner, and Blake Turner; great grandchildren, Mikayla Turner, Max Turner, Macy Ann Turner, and Jason Leger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evan and Mellie Turner; sons, Glen Turner and Joel Turner; brothers, Clyde Turner, Reese Turner, Hayward Turner, Franklin Turner, and Wayne Turner; sisters, Ardell Jenkins, Audie Green, Mae Jewel Diamond, Jennie Turner, and Patricia Turner; and grandson, Harold Wade Carmichael.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gene Guy, William Richardson, David Neal, Hugh Burgan, Marvin Turner, and Harrell Giles. SERVICES Funeral Service Tuesday, February 12, 2019 1:00 PM Hurricane Baptist Church 5037 Hurricane Rd.
