Estelle “Stella” H. Finkler, 100, of Terre Haute and formerly of Dallas, Texas passed away at Meadows Manor East on Thursday, September 20, 2018. She was born June 17, 1918 to Israel and Muriel Hochman in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. Estelle was a piano teacher and also played the clarinet.

She attended World Gospel Church, was a member of the Sierra Club, loved the color purple, and belonged to many community band and music ensembles. Estelle is survived by her daughters; Laurie Jackson (Ronald) of Terre Haute and Phyllis Van Horn (John) of Moscow, Idaho; grandchildren; Brian Van Horn (Jenifer), Maureen Wallace (Keith), Michelle Avelis (Jared), Stephanie Morrison (Jae), and Rebecca Jackson; great grandchildren Sarah and Samuel Wallace, sister Gina Price of Scottsdale, Arizona, brother Sherman Hochman of California, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Irving Henry Finkler who died in 1980.

Services will be held at the Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas on Saturday, September 29th at 2:30 p.m. DeBaun Funeral Home assisted with cremation. Online condolences may be made to www. debaunfuneralhomes.com.
