Esther Y. Murphy, 99, was called to eternal life at home, surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, December 28, 2018. Born in East Providence, RI on July 23, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Thomas & Lena (D’Angeles) Caldarone. She lived many years in Rhode Island and in various parts of Florida before settling to CT 5 years ago to be closer to her family.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur E. Murphy in 1990, a son Arthur E. Murphy in 2013, and siblings William Caldarone, Cynthia Tierney, and Janice Barbieri. Left to honor and cherish her memory are her son, Paul Murphy and his wife Elisa Mendez of Newington, a daughter-in-law Karen Murphy, grandchildren Amanda and Andrew all of Orange Park, FL, nieces Diana Denoia and Pamela Bruno, and nephew David Paparella. Her funeral will begin Saturday, Jan.

5, at 9am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Wateraman Ave. , East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday morning, from 8am until 9am. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations are greatly appreciated to Our Lady of Loreto Church Memorial Fund, 346 Waterman Ave.
