Obituary for Ethel Barrilleaux Himel Ethel Barrilleaux Himel, 92, a native and resident of Thibodaux, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2018. Services are currently pending. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Hebert (Emile Jr.) and Kathleen “Kathi” Melancon; grandchildren, Joey Nicole Hebert, Jeri Hebert Austin (Jeremy), Brent J. Melancon and Jennifer Melancon Naquin (Clint); great-grandchildren, Chaz Daigle, Calhoun Austin, Jolie Naquin and Emmi Naquin; brothers, Huey Barrilleaux, Vernon Barrilleaux, John Pat Barrilleaux, Julian Barrilleaux and Gerald Barrilleaux; and sister, Goldie Legendre.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph N. Himel; parents, John and Lillian Leray Barrilleaux; son-in-law, Harold “Moon” Melancon; brothers, Carroll Barrilleaux and Stephen Barrilleaux; and sisters, Marlene Folse and Catherine “Mona” Williams. Ethel taught 4th grade in the Lafourche Parish school system for 20 years. She was a master seamstress; she also loved working in her yard and took pride in the beautiful flowers and plants she grew.

The family would like to especially thank Mary Ann Oncale Gros for her loving care and friendship that she gave our Mother in the last months of her life.
