Obituary for Eugene C. Miller Eugene C. Miller, 87, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Linda E. White Hospice House surrounded by family. Gene was born May 25, 1931 in Evansville to the late Marcus and Bertha (Schmitt) Miller. He attended St. Boniface Grade School, was a 1949 graduate of Memorial High School and a 1955 graduate of Butler University School of Pharmacy.

Gene owned and operated Miller Drug Store for 11 years and also worked for Bristol Myers Squibb for 25 years; as well as part time at Sandleben Pharmacy and Paul’s Pharmacy. He continued working until he was 86 years old. Gene was a member of the Westside Nut Club and had served as the President and Fall Festival Chairman.

He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Boniface Catholic Church. He loved his Thursday poker games, clabber, bridge and most recently dominoes. Gene was also a huge fan of Notre Dame.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Patricia (Will) Miller; a daughter, Mary (Dan) Ritter of Evansville; sons, Mark (Kathy) Miller of Grinnell, IA, Mauri (Kate) Miller of San Francisco, CA and Mike (Kathy) Miller of Glen Haven, CO; a sister, Ruth Miller and brother, Francis Miller, both of Evansville and grandchildren, Stephanie, David (Yuriko), Nick, Julie, Patrick, Emma, Caroline and Luke (Jase) Miller and Danielle (Gary Tepool), Andrew (Megan Arnold) and Joe (Peyton Rexing) Ritter. Also surviving are best friends Lucille and Wesley Heironimus, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Anita Kleinberg, Cornelia Beane and by an infant, Henrietta Miller; brothers, Brother Lawrence Miller, CSC, Edgar Miller and infant brother, Henry Miller and by a daughter-in-law, Katie Miller.

There will be a Mass of Christian burial held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rev. Lowell Will officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service held at 4:00 PM. Friends may also visit with the family from 10:30 AM until service time at Sacred Heart Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Linda E. White Hospice House or to St. Boniface Parish.
