Obituary for Eula Mae Prescott (Hardy) Print Eula Mae “Sis” Hardy Prescott, 89, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, February 10, 2019 after a short illness. Mrs. Prescott was born October 24, 1929 to the late Leonard McClendon Hardy and the late Ethel Barrow Hardy of Gable. She was a 1949 Graduate of Gable High School.

She was a member of Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. A devoted wife and mother, she looked forward to yearly vacation visits to the mountains and especially Dollywood. Survivors include her sons, Algie “Al” Martin Prescott, Jr. (Wendy) of Holly Hill, Charles Raymond “Ray” Prescott, Thomas Daniel “Danny” Prescott, and Wendell Dean Prescott all of Sumter; two grandchildren, Heath Prescott (Meredith) of Holly Hill, and Tiffany Harris (Logan) of Cameron; and two great grandchildren, Milly and Marley Prescott; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Algie Martin Prescott; a sister, Dorothy Hardy Morris, and a brother, Leonard McClendon “Junior” Hardy. Services celebrating Mrs. Prescott’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Watson and the Rev.

Steve McCormick officiating. Burial will be in the Brunson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, Terry Prescott, Larry Prescott, Jimmy Prescott, Bill “Bubba” Prescott, Charlton Watts; and grandson, Heath Prescott.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church, 1510 Plowden Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29153. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
