Obituary for Eva Eck Eva Denise Eck, age 87, of Duenweg, Mo. , passed away on Thursday July 12, 2018, at National Healthcare, following an illness. Eva was born on June 14, 1931 in Commerce, Ok.

, the daughter of the late Elva “Brownie” Brown and Lula (Robinson) Brown. She has been a lifetime area resident. She graduated from Diamond High School.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She worked as a cook for Irving Elementary School, she later worked for Oxford Home Healthcare, retiring in 2008. She loved cooking and sewing.

She enjoyed flower gardening. She married Bernard “Ben” Eck on June of 1947 in Joplin. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Martin Eck on July 13, 2013. Eva is survived by one daughter, Carol Ann Eck, Joplin, Mo. ; two grandsons, Logan Eck and wife Angela, Joplin, Mo.

and Jeremy Banta and wife Myranda, Joplin, Mo. ; and three great grandchildren, Aubrey, Landon, and Kaydence; a special niece and nephew, Karen and David Drake, Joplin, Mo; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Reverend Joseph Weidenbenner will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Fields Cemetery, near Grove, Ok. with Reverend Tam Nguyen officiating.

A Prayer Service followed by a visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic School. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
