Obituary for Eva “Jane” Hammock Eva Jane Hammock, 90, of Johnston City, passed away at 7:55 a.m., Monday, October 22, 2018 in Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Jane was born January 29, 1928 in Creal Springs to Frank and Mabel (Rushing) Draper. She married James Lowell “Frosty” Hammock on January 3, 1945.

He preceded her in death on May 29, 2008. Jane was retired, having been employed by Smoler Brothers in Herrin for over 30 years. Jane was member of the Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church.

She enjoyed decorating her home before her health began to fail. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to sew and make quilts for her family and friends. She was also an avid reader Survivors include her sister, Bessie Lewis of Vienna; She was loved by many nieces and nephews and several neighbors and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Johnathan Wade Hammock; two sisters, Virginia Craig and Marian Fuller; three brothers, Lowell, Harmon and Lyle Draper; one infant brother and one infant sister. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Andy Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
