Obituary of Eva Covey Bedford – Eva Covey, 97, of Bedford, went home to be with her Lord at 10:50 am on Sunday, September 16, 2018. Born January 28, 1921 in Monroe Co., she was the daughter of Elisha and Sereptha (Butcher) Frye. She married William C. “Buster” Covey on March 11, 1939 and he preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and attended Hilltop Pentecostal Church and Gulletts Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Nelda Jean Crider and Betty Jo (Gary) Henderson, both of Bedford, and Judith K. (Don Bowden) Thompson, of Orleans; seven grandchildren, Bud (Marcy) Simmerman, Amanda (Matt) Blake, Jared Henderson, Allen Thompson, Carol Houchin, Karen Jarred, and Jason Covey; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, and a daughter-in-law, Sally Covey Burton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Carl Dean Covey; four brothers, Leco, Alfred, Roscoe, and Freland Frye; a sister, Arbutis Branam; a son-in-law, Joe Crider.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 20th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends may express condolences at www.
