Mrs. Evelyn Bednar Paul, 92, of Smoaks, entered into rest Saturday morning, November 24, 2018, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. Mrs. Paul was a loving and devoted wife, having been twice married, first to the late The Reverend William John Bednar for forty-eight years at the time of his death, and secondly to the late Mr. Henry Edward Paul for twelve years at the time of his death. Born September 27, 1926, in Calumet City, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Fay and Hazel Forburger Ault.

She was a retired educated and a devoted homemaker. She was active at Ehrhardt Southern Methodist Church where she had served as the church pianist. First and foremost she was devoted to God, her Savior.

She will always be remembered as a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Her Christian family who she dearly loved meant the World to her also. Surviving are: five children, William Edward Bednar of Yulee, Florida, Karen Bednar Joyner and her husband Wayne of Spartanburg, Cynthia Bednar Kuhlewind and her husband Wade of Greenville, Nathan John Bednar and his wife Priscilla of Atlanta, Georgia, and Gwendolyn Bednar Hucks and her husband Tommy of Smoaks; and a brother, Leonard Ault of Wisconsin.

There are numerous beloved nieces, nephews, step-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren that also survive along with a large host of extended family members whom she came to love during her marriage to Mr. Paul. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory: The Samaritan’s Purse, care of Ehrhardt Southern Methodist Church, Post Office Box 93, Ehrhardt, South Carolina 29081. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Monday morning, November 26, 2018, at Ehrhardt Southern Methodist Church, 13667 Broxton Bridge Road, Ehrhardt.

The Reverend Chris Sweatman and The Reverend Gene Ball officiating. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation prior to the funeral ceremony Monday morning beginning at 10 o’clock in the church sanctuary. Interment will be held at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning, November 27, 2018, at Graham Memorial Park, Cemetery Road, Graham North Carolina.
