Evelyn’s Obituary Graveside services for Evelyn Elizabeth Poor, 85-year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at Eakly Cemetery with Brian Harris officiating. Services are under Lockstone Funeral Home. Evelyn was born February 23, 1933, in Heavener, Oklahoma to Angelo R. and Dolly Ann (Doyle) Payne and passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019, at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital.

Evelyn was raised and attended school in Howe, Oklahoma and California. On January 28, 1949, she married Vernon Odell Poor in Van Buren, Arkansas and made their home in Texas. They moved to Weatherford in 1974.

In 1980, she started working at Southwestern State University and was there for over 26 years. Evelyn enjoyed crocheting and loved spending time with her family. Evelyn is survived by two sons, Michael Odell Poor of Poteau, Oklahoma and Lanny James Poor and wife, Nancy of Heavener, Oklahoma; two daughters, Sherry Taylor of Eakly, Oklahoma and Judy Hall and husband, Michael of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, August, Joe Paul and Donald; one sister, Ruth; three grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and one step-great-grandchild.
