Evelyn’s Obituary Evelyn Lund, 99, of rural Selfridge, ND, and McLaughlin, SD, passed away at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center on February 1, 2019. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM CT, Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at Assembly of God Church, Selfridge, SD, with lunch following the service. Burial will be at 1:30 PM CT, Tuesday, February 5, at the McLaughlin Cemetery, one half mile north of McLaughlin.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Monday, February 4 at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 East Divide Avenue, Bismarck, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Evelyn Elizabeth Petersen was born April 6, 1919, to Gert and Ruth (Jenssen Conrad) Petersen at home near Bredette, MT, on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.

She worked for room and board to be able to attend high school in Scobey, MT. After graduating, she boarded a train to Seattle, WA, where she attended Northwest Bible College. After graduation she worked in the ministry in North Dakota and Montana for ten years.

On June 5, 1951, she married Warren Lund in Selfridge, ND. Together they started a ranch in Sioux County where she worked hard and was blessed to live until she was 97 years old. She was an avid Bible scholar, who devoted her life to studying the scriptures and memorizing many passages.

She enjoyed her garden. The highlight of her week was attending church at Selfridge Assembly of God, where she enjoyed fellowship and frequent potlucks with her church family. She is survived by her eight children: Rev.

Larry (Judy) Lund, Mishawaka, IN; Gene (Cheryl) Lund; Allen (Bernice) Lund, Selfridge, ND; Arlene Erdahl, Bismarck, ND; Arlin Lund, McLaughlin, SD; Will (Sandy) Lund, McLaughlin, SD; Bonnie (Roger) Weeres, Colorado Springs, CO; and Donna (Brian) Johnson, Panama City Beach, FL. Twelve grandchildren: Chad (Cassie) Lund; Jonathon (LeeAnne) Lund and their daughter Maisie; Corie (Troy) Ereth and son Trey and baby on the way; Toby Lund; Ruth Erdahl; Rose Erdahl; Casey Lund, Dusty (Leigh) Lund; Levi (Dani) Lund and daughter Riley and baby on the way; Amber Lund; Heather (Mark) Boyett and their children Taylor, Tyler, and Tatum; and Steven Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren, her granddaughter Barbara Lund, and son-in-law Carl Erdahl.
