Evet Yvonne Horton, 35, of Lorain, Ohio passed away early Wednesday morning April 18, 2018, at Mercy Regional Medical Center from a lengthy illness. Evet was born on October 26, 1982 to Vonda Kay Horton in Lorain, Ohio. She had a passion for cooking and loved being around family and friends.

She loved dogs especially her dog Mister. She is survived by her brother Clarence Cornwell Jr. of Lorain, fiance Brian Shumpert of Lorain, father Clarence Cornwell Sr. of Lorain, neices Zariah and Zaniyah Cornwell of Lorain, aunt Valarie Horton of Lorain, cousins Latoya Wade of Lorain, Sandra (Horton) Williams of Michigan, Natisa Horton of Lorain, Alfred Williams of Lorain, Bernice Williams of Tennessee, and a host of other relatives. Evet was preceded in death by her son Brian Keith Shumpert Jr., mother Vonda Kay Horton, maternal grandparents Edward Horton and Mattie Horton.

Private services will be held for family and close friends. Flowers and cards can be sent to Carter’s Funeral Home, 3001 Elyria Ave, Lorain, OH 44055.
