Obituary for Fannie Green Fannie B. Green, 83, wife of Oliver M. “Lauren” Green, Jr., died Sunday, June 24, 2018, at her home. Born September 28, 1934, in the Privateer section of Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Richard Sanders Barkley and the late Eulene Osteen Barkley. She retired as an executive secretary from Carolina Power and Light Company.

She was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard, and traveling to the beach and mountains. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kathy Lynn Ward (Gary); a son, Robert Edward Ward; two grandsons, Thomas Allen Cuttino, Jr. and Jeremie Sanders Cuttino; a great-grandson, Thomas Allen “Trae” Cuttino, III; a great-granddaughter, Tinley Kathryn Cuttino; and her buddy, Patricia Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Wendell “Bobby” Ward; an infant daughter; a brother, Gilbert Barkley; and two sisters, Sarah Barkley and Evelyn Avin. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Larry Fraser officiating.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Thomas Allen Cuttino, Jr. and Jeremie Sanders Cuttino; nephew, Michael Wayne Barkley, and grand-nephews, Richard Grant Barkley, Gordon McNair Owens, III, and Jacob Troy Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be retired employees of Carolina Power and Light Company.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 2401 Bethel Church Rd. , Sumter, SC 29154 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd.
