Fay Dean Learned passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Circle of Life Hospice Home in Bentonville, Arkansas, with her husband, Charles, and her children by her side. She had fought a courageous battle with cancer when God called her home. Fay was born February 17, 1935 in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Jeff Lester and Ruby Grey (Hix) Adcock; the second of seven children.

Her mother was the eldest of fourteen children. A graduate of the class of 1953 from Hulbert High School, she received a scholarship and attended beauty school. In May of 1953 she married Willis Copeland, the father of her children, who preceded her in death.

They owned Port city Drive Inn for several years. Later, she was the manager of Greenleaf Apartments until her retirement in 2005. On December 4, 2005, Fay married Charles Learned of Bella Vista, Arkansas.

They made their home in Bella Vista and have shared almost 14 years of happy marriage together. They attended Bethel Baptist and recently Fellowship Baptist Church in Bella Vista. They were also members of Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Muskogee.

Southern Gospel Singing was Fay’s passion. It started for her as a child by listening to her father’s singing. Her family sang at Church and at gatherings.

She and Charles shared a love for Church and Gospel Music; together they have traveled Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Texas attending gospel singings and having a wonderful time. She had quite a few “fellas” in the gospel quartets that they followed always getting lots of hugs. Fay never met a stranger; always greeting and making people feel like they had known her forever.

She loved talking to everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Burniece Garman and Genell Copeland; brother, Wayne Adcock. Fay is survived by her husband, Charles of the home; daughter, Deborah Wheeler and husband Rick of Muskogee; son, Michael Copeland and wife Kathy of Topeka, KS; stepson, Rod Learned and wife Val of Wichita, KS; sisters, Myrna Hammons and Carol Lamberson both of Tahlequah, OK; brother, Dennis Adcock and wife Thelma of Muskogee; sister-in-law, Joyce Adcock of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with so many good friends too numerous to mention.

The family will receive friends from 5-7PM, Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. For her Arkansas family and friends, a memorial service will be at 11AM, Wednesday March 13, 2019 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Bella Vista, AR with Dr. Kenneth Strickland conducting the services. Funeral services celebrating Fay’s life will be at 1PM, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Muskogee with Brother Bobby Smith, Dr. Darren Wallace, and Dr. Kenneth Strickland officiating.

Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Richard Hix, David Hix, Winston Hix, Danny Hix, Bentley Fisher, and Ron Heriaud serving as pallbearers.
