Obituary for Faye Bernice Brooks Grisham Faye Bernice Brooks Grisham died peacefully at her daughter’s residence on the morning of July 01, 2018. She was born on Nov. 27, 1920 and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was the 7th of 9 children. Her parents were Walter C. and Ollie L. Brooks of Industry, IL. She married Mervin Francis Grisham of Basehor, KS on October 14, 1950.

They were married 57 years before he passed away on June 13, 2008. They lived a full life together in Davenport, IA in their working years; retired to Apache Junction, AZX and later moved to Kerrville. They had two daughters, Joyce Kay Grisham and Kathleen Faye Grisham Beck.

She was a housewife all of her married life. She loved to garden and raise vegetables and flowers. She delighted in propagating plants.

She was raised in the depression and maintained her thrifty lifestyle all her life. She had resided at her daughter Kathleen’s home since 2015. She was of the Christian faith.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mingo T. Brooks, Gale (Alva) Brooks, Buy (Bernice) Brooks and Wayne (Barbara Sue) Brooks; sisters, Pauline (Andrew) Stutes, Jessie (Clois) Fackler, Verna Brooks and Marjorie (Russell) LeMaster. Faye is survived by her daughters, Joyce Kay Grisham of Blanco and Kathleen Faye Grisham Beck and husband Mark of Kerrville; two grandchildren, Katherine Jean Beck Bell and husband Jeff of St. Petersburg, FL and Mark Francis Alfred Beck of Lincoln, NE. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

No service will be held. Her ashes will return to her husband’s side at the cemetery in Industry, IL alongside her parents and several siblings. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Faye Bernice Brooks Grisham please visit our Sympathy Store.
