Obituary for Gary Neil Richards Gary Neil Richards went to his Lord and Savior on November 23, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Gary was born on December 3, 1948 in League City, Texas to Ransom A. Richards and Marjorie N. Richards. In his teenage years he moved to Blanco, Texas.

He graduated high school from Texas Military Institute and began his four year service with the U. S. Navy as a Jet engine technician in carrier operations in the Atlantic, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon and the Navy Unit Commendation. After being honorably discharged he moved to San Antonio, Texas and married Crystal Staton. Gary began his career in the real estate business but later established Gary Richards Engraving specializing in all types of firearms engraving.

He was a member of The Episcopal church of San Antonio. Survivors include his wife, Crystal Richards of San Antonio, brother, Byron Richards and wife Sandra, of Groveton, Texas, nephew Greg Richards and wife, Kimberly, of Kerrville, niece Gina Hollis and husband Ron, of Austin, and several grandnieces and a grandnephew. Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Sasha Richards.

Gary was a person of deep faith, affable to all he met and respected for his engraving artistry. The family is very grateful to the Kerrville VA Hospital for the compassionate care afforded him during his last few months of life.
