Obituary for Mrs. Faye Booth Faye Booth, affectionately known as “GG”, 77, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born on March 18, 1941, in Stanley, Ky to the late Oldham Lee Wimsatt and Phyllis Shively Wimsatt. After starting her family, Faye returned to college to continue her education.
She graduated from Brescia with a Bachelor’s degree in 1999. Faye worked at the Wendall Foster Campus and also as a substitute teacher for the Owensboro City School System. She was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral and a Eucharistic Minister at the church.
She also was a member of the Owensboro Garden Club, Bridge Club, The Women’s Guild, and the Owensboro Jr. League. She enjoyed volunteering in the community and making a difference in the life of others. She volunteered many hours at the Wendall Foster Campus, Craven Center, St. Joseph Peace Mission and the Owensboro Garden Club.
She enjoyed traveling to many foreign countries, entertaining, spending time with her friends and family, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Wimsatt Reed and a brother, Milton Wimsatt. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard D. Booth; two sons, Chris Booth of Seymour, IN, and Nick (Christina) Booth of Alpharetta, GA; two daughters, Kelly (Casey) Arney of Nashville, TN, and Kim (Joe) Fox of Hendersonville, TN; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Jane (Bill) Mischel of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Noon Tuesday at St. Stephen Cathedral with Father Jerry Riney officiating. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Booth will welcome family and friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory.
Prayers will be said Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
