Faye Tennyson age 88 of Sweetwater, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18th, 2019. Faye was a loving mother and grandmother and loved by all that knew her . She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She followed in the footsteps of her late husband Alfred Tennyson to become the first female county commissioner of Monroe County from 1976 – 1986. She is preceded in death by her husband Alfred L. Tennyson, her parents Millburn and Ada Curtis, and sister Dolores Floyd. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Tracy and Josh Fox of Sweetwater, Donna and Larry Honea of Hazel Green, Alabama.

Grandchildren, Haleigh and husband Tillman Steele of Vonore, Travis Fox of Hazel Green, Ella and Parker Fox of Sweetwater. Great – grandchildren, Mylie, Maddox, Beckham, and Declan all of Vonore. Step-children, Nina and husband David Berrong of Lenoir City, Diane and husband Richard Campbell of Madisonville, and Fred and Ann Tennyson of Cary, North Carolina.

Several step -grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special niece Cheryl Elder and brother-in-law Charles Floyd of Athens. Special son-in-law Wayne Avera of Taft, Tennessee.

The family would also like to express their appreciation to Debbie Exum at Sequoyah Trail Apartments. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 21st, 2019 at Kyker’s Funeral Home Chapel from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with Randy White officiating. A private memorial will be held by immediate family on Friday, March 22nd, 2019.
