Robert “Bobby” Darrell Guyer, born July 25, 1950, of Sweetwater, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at Parkwest Medical Center after a noble two year battle of cancer. He was 68 years old. Robert was a former employee and retiree of Lockheed Martin Corporation and Tennessee Valley Authority.

Robert was a member of Glenlock Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, having served in the United States Army. Robert was an avid golfer, an artisan woodworker, and a lover of the great outdoors.

He was preceded in death by parents: William “Tom” Guyer and Patsy Lemons Guyer. Survivors include: wife of 46 years, Patricia Ann Thompson Guyer, devoted daughter Daphne Nicole Guyer, brother and sister-in-law Joe and Judy Guyer, sister and brother-in-law Darnell and David Ezell, brother-in-law Glen Thompson, and wife Delores, two sister-in-laws Evelyn Thompson, and Nikki Thompson. He was also survived by ten nieces and six nephews, and an aunt, Louise Guyer of Oak Ridge.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Tennessee Cancer Specialists, and his oncologist, Dr. Ross Kerns. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made In Robert Guyer’s name to The American Cancer Society. A private memorial was held by immediate family on Saturday March 16, 2019 followed by a 21-gun salute at the graveside service.
