Ferdinand D. Stutzman, age 82, of Berlin Township passed away Wednesday, November, 7, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Bob Stryker officiating. Burial will take place in Berlin Cemetery.

Ferdinand was born May 22, 1936 to Daniel J. and Anna F. (Miller) Stutzman in Wayne County Ohio. He married Esther J. Yoder on May 18, 1961, they were united in marriage by Bishop Melvin Raber. Ferdinand was farming from 1962 to 2000.

In 1966 he and his wife moved home on Esther’s dad’s farm and farmed there until the year 2000, then they sold the farm. Ferdinand also had a machine shop, where he manufactured horse-drawn manure spreaders, and also done welding repair work. Ferdinand was a good singer and loved to play music.

He played the fiddle, guitar, mandolin and the harmonica. Esther helped him sing some, which are precious memories she will cherish forever. They had Bluegrass Gospel Music Jams and carry in suppers at their house in the basement which started back in February of 2003.

People came from all over. Surviving in addition to his wife of 57 years are two brothers, Mose and Lydia (Miller) Stutzman of New York and Levi D. Stutzman of Union City, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Cora Stutzman, Fannie Stutzman and Elizabeth Stutzman all of Union City, Pennsylvania; two special nephews, Keith Yoder and Nathan Miller; and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Jacob D. and Jemima (Byler) Stutzman of New York, Mary D. and (Valentine) Petersheim of Pennsylvania, John D. Stutzman, Sarah D. Stutzman and Anna D. Stutzman all of Ohio.
