Fern J. (Holm) Miller, age 84 of Wahoo, passed away June 20, 2018 at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont, Nebraska. She was born December 17, 1933 to Raymond and Olga (Swanson) Holm in Wahoo, Nebraska. She attended District 26 grade school and graduated from Wahoo High School.

Her father nicknamed her “Joey” and she was called that by friends and relatives all her life. Fern worked for Western Electric and AT&T in Omaha and Atlanta, Georgia for 21 years as an Administrative Clerk. She met and married Richard “Dick” Miller in 1973 while working for AT&T in Atlanta.

They lived at various locations near Atlanta until retiring on an acreage near Winder Georgia. After Dick died in 1993, Fern moved back to Wahoo in 1994 to be near her family. She enjoyed reading, sewing, embroidery, cooking and fishing as hobbies.

She is survived by son Randy (Janet) Maly of Wahoo; granddaughters Krysia (Jack) Gannon of Omaha and Kara (Josh) Hardy of Norwalk, IA; great-grandchildren Julia, Lucy and Ian Gannon and Emma Hardy; companion William Lindholm of Wahoo. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Richard A. Miller. Her cremated remains were inurned at a family service on June 25, 2018 at Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo.

A Celebration of Fern’s Life will be held from 3-6 Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Saunders County Historical Society, 240 N. Walnut Street in Wahoo with a program at 4:00 pm.
