Obituary for Florence Eldean Hirt (Cherry) Florence Eldean Hirt, 94, Tipton died Thursday evening Jan. 3, 2019 at her home. She was born July 27, 1924 in Tipton, daughter of the late Harvey F. and Rachel E. (Johnson) Cherry.

On Feb. 3, 1942, she married Ralph W. Hirt in Bellwood and he preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1981.

Surviving are a son, John F. of Tipton; a daughter, Connie E. James, with whom she resided; two grandchildren, Beth (Damian) Futrick and Todd (Erin) Hirt; five great grandchildren, Tyne (Mike) Blazier, Jordan Futrick and Alexis, Wyatt and Lincoln Hirt; and two great-great grandchildren, Jason and Hunter. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Hirt. Eldean attended Tipton Baptist Church.

She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and vegetable gardening. She also enjoyed doing Search-a-word puzzles, watching television game shows and was a Pittsburgh Steeler football fan. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Monday, Jan.

7, 2019 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019 at the funeral home, Pastor John Pine officiating.

Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, Altoona PA.
