Obituary for Mrs. Florence Holzhauer Piver Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Holzhauer Piver, 87, who entered into rest Saturday, July 14, 2018, will be held at 3 o’clock on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in St. James Lutheran Church, Sumter, SC. The Rev. Keith Getz will officiate with burial to follow in Piedmont Cemetery, Bishopville, SC.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home is serving the family. Mrs. Piver, the widow of Talmadge M. Piver, was born in Gillett, AR.

She was a daughter of the late Herman Holzhauer and Lena Schmidt Holzhauer. She was a loving mother that raised her children well and did anything to support them. She loved to go on vacations on the tour bus with her friends.

Her German Shepherd, Marley, was a dear companion whom she loved dearly. She was retired from B & D in Sumter, SC after 30 years of service, and also worked as a greeter at Walmart for the past 13 years. She was a wonderful mother and will be dearly missed by her loving family.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa P. (Chuck) Veasey of La Plata, MD, Crystal P. Reed of Dalzell, SC, Karen R. Piver of Bishopville, SC; sons, Michael R. Piver of Sumter, SC, Marion D. (Lillian) Piver of Greenwood, IN; sister, Hazel (Delos) McCauley; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harvey Holtzhauer, Neal Holtzhauer; sister, Margie Place; granddaughter, Melissa Bailey; son-in-law, Ernest Reed.
