Obituary for Florine Johns Monroe Florine Johns Monroe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the age of 94 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Gordon Monroe; her daughter, Carol Roundtree; her granddaughter, Raquel Ann Perez; her parents, Lessie and Leah Johns; her siblings, Alex James Johns, Claudia Mae Summerville, and Genoa Irene Guy.

She is the loving mother of Michael Monroe, Donna Monroe Weber (Richard) and Mary Monroe. She is the devoted grandmother of Kim Selensky, Michelle Calegan (Todd), Matthew Monroe (Michelle), Tammy Palmisano Hammer, Phil Garcia, Michael Garcia, Tanya Dubroc (Tom), and Denny Tassin. She is the loving great grandmother of several great grandchildren.

She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. A true Southern Belle, Florine was an authentic Georgia Peach. An avid hostess, she loved to cook and was well renowned for her southern fried chicken and for baking her delicious chocolate cakes.

Above all her passion was her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, July 27, 2018 beginning at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd.
