Obituary for William Freeman Akin William Freeman Akin passed away peacefully at his home on July 12, 2018 surrounded by his loving wife of 33 years, Michelle Bourgeois Akin. Bill is survived by his brothers, Robert Parks Akin (Wanda) and John Thomas Akin II (Barbara); father-in-law, Arthur N.J. Bourgeois, brothers-in-law, Don Durden, and Michael J. Bourgeois, sister-in-law, Karla M. Bourgeois; nephews, Adam Parks Akin (Tina), David Durden (Lisa), nieces, Ashlee Venegas (Howard), Emily Pritchett (Hall), and Celeste Tracy (Daniel). Also survived by 10 great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Akin and Catherine Freeman Akin, his sister, Dr. Kay Akin Durden, mother-in-law, Joretta Bourgeois and brother- in- law Glen P. Bourgeois. Bill was very kind and a gentleman who will be missed by his many friends and family. His Funeral Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield, Tennessee on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11am.

Interment will follow. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in New Orleans, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to Greenfield High School, 503 Fairlane Drive, Greenfield, Tennessee, 38230.
