Floyd S. “Frosty” Irwin Age 95, of East Sparta, passed away Monday Oct. 22, 2018. He was born June 21, 1923 in Paris, OH, a son of the late Charles and Mabel (Haynam) Irwin, had resided in East Sparta since 1980, previously North Industry 10 years and Waynesburg 20 years.

He retired in 1983 from M.B. Operating Co., after 13 years service, where he was a pumper, and previously worked at Republic Steel for 20 years where he was a crane operator. Frosty served as a Councilman for the Village of East Sparta for two terms from 1985-1991, and also served on the Board of Public Affairs. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Randolph Scott Irwin, three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his long-time companion, Jackie Truax, one daughter, Melissa Irwin and James Lottes, two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Glenda Irwin, and Harold and Nancy Irwin, 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; also two sisters and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lucille Murphy, Anna Tolley, Don and Iva Irwin, and Howard and Nancy Irwin. A Celebration of Life will be held Sat.

at 1p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Celebrant Amy Downard officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service on Sat. from 12 Noon-1 p.m. A private burial for the family only with Military Honors will be held in Sandy Valley Cemetery.
