Obituary for Frances C. Truman Frances C. “Fran” Truman (1926-2018) WATERLOO – Frances C. “Fran” Truman, 91, of Waterloo died Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Friendship Village. She was born August 22, 1926 in Auburn, Nebraska, daughter of Grover C. and Ada M. (Manasmith) Crossley. Frances was married twice; George P. Lund (deceased) and Charles Truman (deceased).

She graduated from Cedar Falls High School and worked as a switchboard operator at the Cedar Falls Telephone Company and for many years at Clay Equipment, Cedar Falls. Survived by: a daughter, Rev Linda [Lund] (Nigel) McMurray of Scotland, UK; a sister, Edna (Arnold) Madsen of Cedar Falls; a nephew, Kurt (Susie) Cagley of Cedar Falls; and many other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: her sister, Priscilla Cagley; four half-sisters; and four half-brothers.

No services will be held at her request. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society 1166 West Airline Highway Waterloo, IA 50703.

Her exquisitely created pieces of needlework, earned her numerous awards including ‘Best of Show’ several times at both Cattle Congress and the Iowa State Fair.
