Obituary for Frances Samples King (Scoggins) Frances Samples King, age 84, entered Heavens Gate on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. She was born in Bogata, Texas to Floyd Dee and Ver May (Cooper) Scoggins on Monday, April 30, 1934. Frances had been a resident of Irving for 60 years and the successful business owner of Atlas Printing Ink Company, until her retirement in 2000.

She will lovingly be remembered as a nurturing, caring and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who found the most joy spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Frances is preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Vera, 1st husband Bob Stokes, 2nd husband Tommy Samples and sister Sandra Cooper. Left to cherish her memory is husband Clyde King; sister Wyveda Dowdy; sons Bobby Stokes; son Ricky Samples; son Michael Samples; daughter Linda Samples; granddaughters Jennifer Samples Dearden, Leslie Stokes Whetstine, Tara Samples, Amber Dobeka, Shelby Stokes Cannon and Briley Samples; grandsons Mike Samples, Jason Stokes, Matt Samples, Paul Samples, Dallas Riney, Colton Riney, Brandon Riney and Carson Samples; 7 great granddaughters; 12 great grandsons along with numerous extended family and loving friends.

The family will receive friend between 6:00 and 7:00pm, on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving. A funeral service will be held at Calvary Church, 4401 N. Hwy 161 in Irving with an interment at Oak Grove Memorial gardens immediately following.
