Frances Shockey March 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Longtime Corbett resident, Frances Burnett Shockey, age 89 of McAlester, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019, at the Walnut Grove Nursing Home in McAlester. Frances Retta Hardin was born March 5, 1930 in Hico, Texas, the youngest of 3 daughters born to John Henry Hardin and Zellie Frances (Turner) Hardin. The Hardin family moved to Oklahoma when Frances was yet a teenager and settled in Okla.

City. Frances finished her schooling, graduating from Northwest Classen High School. Frances married the late L.D. Burnett and they settled in the Corbett community where together they raised 5 children; daughters, Teresa, Jeanie and Nita and sons, Gary and Max.

Frances worked tirelessly as a homemaker, caring and providing for her young family. When all of her children were nearly grown, she began working at the OU Goddard Health Center. Several years later she retired as Office Manager.

Frances was a woman of great faith and a member of the Baptist faith. She attended church in Corbett, Lexington and most recently Wilburton. Frances later remarried Olen Shockey and they split time between Oklahoma and Washington State.

For the last 3 ½ years, she has lived in McAlester to be closer to her son and caregiver Gary. She was a wonderful wife and mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: Her grandson, Eric Maguire; Her husband, LD Burnett; Parents, Henry and Zellie Hardin and Two sisters, Juanita Windham and Leoma Phillips; Son in law, Rene Daignault. Frances is survived by: Her sons, Gary Burnett and wife Sharon of Wilburton and Max Burnett of Seminole; Her daughters, Teresa Maguire and husband Chet of Fairfield, IL, Jeanie Robbins and husband Russell of Eufaula, AL and Nita Daignault of Edmond; Her husband, Olen Shockey of Eltopia, Washington Eleven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 1 more on the way, and A host of other family and friends. Family will greet relatives and friends from 6-7:30 P.M., Monday, March 18th evening at Wilson-Little Funeral Home.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Corbett Cemetery. Send online condolences @ wilsonlittle.com.
