Obituary for Francisco Chavez Francisco “Yeyo” Chavez, age 69, of Portage, IN, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sylvia M. Chavez (Martinez); children: Francisco (Monica) Chavez and Marisa (Javier Casillas) Chavez; grandchildren: Gesenia, Vivian, Christian, Matthew and Genessa Chavez and Laila and Maia Casillas; siblings: Jorge (Renate) Chavez, Ricardo (Teresa) Chavez, Maria (Atanacio) Mota, Mary (Reginaldo) Estrada, Norma (Jose) Cortez, Lorenzo Chavez and Efran (Veronica) Chavez. Francisco is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He came from a family of entrepreneurs and assisted in the family auto business in Gary, IN. He was family oriented and never hesitated to help family or friends in need.

Frank was a natural craftsman, a classic auto connoisseur, and a man of conviction. He would light up the room with his sarcastic comments and quick-wit. He was truly loved by many and will be missed.

Funeral service is going to be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, 7:00 p.m. at Calumet Park Hobart-Portage Funeral Chapel (370 N. County Line Rd. , 370 N. County Line Rd. , Hobart, IN).

Rev. Frank Torres officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. For information please call 219-940-3791.
