Obituary for Frank Edward Miller Frank E. Miller, age 87, of Zumbrota, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Wayne Schoch officiating. The visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Mahn Family Funeral Home – Larson Chapel. Frank Edward Miller was born on December 14, 1931 to John and Anna (Laflin) Miller at home in Chester Township.

He grew up in the Bear Valley area and attended Chester Township country school and graduated from Mazeppa High School in 1950. After graduating he took over the family farm. Frank married Marlys Stechmann on April 24, 1954 at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota.

Together they had four children and farmed together for most of their lives. They sold the farm and moved to Zumbrota in 1989. Frank drove school bus for many years with the Lake City and Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District.

Frank and Marlys moved to the Homestead in Rochester in 2015. Frank was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church – Bear Valley and later in life Christ Lutheran Church. He also served on the Mazeppa Creamery Board and Bear Valley Church Board for many years.

Frank enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing cards, gardening and having the biggest pumpkins, spending times with friends, especially his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marlys; four children, Brenda (David) Windhorst of Mazeppa, Robert (Dawn) Miller of Chippewa Falls, WI, Pamela (Paul) Langr of Rochester, and Linda (Dan) Hinrichs of Zumbrota; nine grandchildren, Allison Windhorst, Melissa (Josh) Boraas, Corbin (Bryan) Orlenko, Maria (Matthew) Karas, Matthew Miller, Natalie and Jessica Langr, Connor (Sara) and Brady Hinrichs; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Florence Gerken of Lake City and many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents.
