Obituary for Michael John Hanson Michael John Hanson 49, of Farmington, MN, formerly of Red Wing, died Thursday, December 20th 2018 at Augustana Hospice after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Rochester, MN on August 16, 1969 to Milo and Mary (Ekern) Hanson. He graduated in 1988 from Red Wing Central High Schoool.

He married Fran Gould on June 1, 1991 at the Church of St. Joseph in Red Wing. Michael followed in his mom’s footsteps and graduated from Red Wing technical college in 1995 with a LPN degree. He worked as an LPN until the time of his illness in April 2017.

Michael found great joy in watching football, playing league softball, bowling, caring for his residents and spending time with his grandchildren. He survived by his wife, Fran; three children, Mitchell Hanson, Brandon Hanson and Alyssa Hanson, all of Farmington, MN; two grandchildren, Adrain and Adaylnn Hanson; his father, Milo Hanson of Rochester, MN; four brothers, Bill Hanson of Burnsville, MN, Eric (Stacy) Hanson of Harlan, Iowa, Mark (Cassi) Hanson of Cannon Falls and Andy (Nicole) Hanson of Great Falls, Montana; one sister Katie (Chris) Robinson of Ellsworth, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded by death by his mother.

Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery in Red Wing.
