Fred D. Garrett, 53, of Warren, PA, passed away on Monday September 17, 2018, following a lengthy illness. Fred was born April 6, 1965, in Warren, to Fred Larson, of Warren, and Karen Check Michell, of Warren. Fred was a lifelong Warren resident and a 1983 graduate of W.A.H.S.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Warren. In 1983 he started working for MCM Construction.

He went on to co-own Master Craft Manufacturing with Jeff Kania as a Corian fabricator and custom cabinet maker. Fred loved everything outdoors: hunting, fishing, four wheeling, golfing and was an accomplished archer, having competed in many tournaments. He was a loving son, brother, father, and friend to many.

He was a member of the Warren Archery Club, the Eagles club, and several other organizations when he was able. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his father and step-mother, Fred and Jane Larson, of North Warren; his maternal grandmother, Autumn (Gram) Check; two children, Brendan Garrett, of Warren, and Alicia Garrett, of Warren; and brothers, Mike Garrett, of Warren, Ronald Larson, of Erie; sisters, Michele Larson, of Rochester, NY, and Jillian Hodges, of Erie, PA; three nephews, Michael and Matt Garrett, of Warren and Skyler Wolfe, Air Force. He was preceded in death in 2013 by his brother, Mark Garrett; his maternal grandfather, Warren J. Check; and his paternal grandparents, Dr. John and Marge Larson.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, September 21. A funeral service will be held at The First Lutheran Church, on Saturday September 22, at 11 a.m., with The Rev. Jeffery Ewing, pastor, officiating.

The family has requested memorial donations be made to the Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave. Warren, PA 16365 or Simmons Center for Interstitial Lung Disease, UPMC Montefiore NW628 3459 Fifth Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
